In November and December 2024, the New England School Development Council (NESDEC) facilitated the administration of focus groups and a community survey in coordination with Bolton’s central office. In all, nearly 350 individuals participated in the needs assessment. Participants included parents, community members, administrators, faculty and staff. The information gathered through the outreach process was used as the basis to detail the qualities, characteristics, skills, knowledge and experiences desired in a new superintendent and to identify the pressing challenges ahead of him or her. The input was subsequently reviewed and analyzed. This information was used to develop the Successful Candidate Profile, linked here and attached to this communication.
